Exif date changer mac
Seems as though the issue is isolated to video shot in "H.264" but I'm not 100% sure this is the root cause. I looked at several files, shot with iPhone 7 and 8s.

Can anyone validate this? Any advice on how to change it so it's sorting properly? Thank you kindly.
#EXIF DATE CHANGER MAC MAC#
My hypothesis is that when the photo/video gets uploaded to google photos (I'm using the mac uploader), it tries to find the EXIF "Original Date," and when it's blank it reverts back to import date to generate the "create date." So the result is that all my videos, no matter when they were actually taken, is shown together in the timeline under 1 date, the upload date. When using a EXIF viewing tool, I discovered that the video "Original Date" is blank on ALL the videos I've taken on my iPhone (photos are fine).
After digging more into this, I noticed that google photos actually uses the EXIF "Original Date," or the date in which the photo of video was taken to short.
That's called the EXIF "original Date" to my understanding. NOTE that the creation date that exists in the Mac finder is not the actual "original date" or "shot on" date or the date in which the video or photo was actually taken. The "creation" on the google photos app and website is the date of import and is different that the "Creation Date" that shows on my mac. To conclude, Photo Date Changer is an interesting and user-friendly program whose main purpose is to help digital photographers and other professionals in the field to manually alter the date and time information of pictures.I noticed that the dates are not sorting correctly on my video files in google photos. Using the ‘Adjust JPEG EXIF Timestamp’ function, you can add or remove time-related details from your images. Moreover, the ‘Copy File Creation Date to JPEG EXIF Timestamp’, lets you decide which elements to work on, only the date or the time, or both. As such, the ‘Set JPEG EXIF Timestamp’ allows you to manually configure a precise date and time for the pictures. Quickly add your pictures and modify their timestampįor starters, you can load your images into Photo Date Changer, either by pressing on the ‘Add’ button and loading the targeted items, or by drag and dropping them onto the main window of the utility.įrom the ‘Action’ menu, you can select the operation you want to perform, with four different options to choose from, namely ‘Set JPEG EXIF Timestamp’, ‘Adjust JPEG EXIF Timestamp’, ‘Copy File Creation Date to JPEG EXIF Timestamp’ and ‘Copy RAW or JPEG EXIF Timestamp To Creation Date’.Īside from the last action, which simply requires you to press the ‘Perform Changes’ button, the others also let you tinker with some of their properties. The tool does not require that much experience in order to handle it properly, yet it will constantly warn you that any alteration you make is at your own risk, which can become quite tiresome. Subsequent to the brief and fairly uneventful installation, you can start working with the application right away, thanks to the intuitive and straight-forward interface that it provides you with, so you do not have to waste time trying to figure it out.
